On May 15, 2025, Lau Pak Lok Secondary School hosted the thrilling T2R2 debate competition against our school. The motion, 'THBT South Korea should exempt top K-Pop stars from mandatory military service', sparked intense arguments. Representing the negative side, our team delivered compelling points. Willard Charm (3R 02) opened with a powerful speech, stressing North Korea’s threat and the necessity of universal military service. Keira Liu (4S 27) followed, arguing that exemptions for K-Pop stars would unfairly exclude other professionals like doctors, eroding social morale.
The debate reached its peak as Abby Wong (4R 22), our third speaker, dismantled the opposition’s case like a skilled surgeon slicing through weak arguments. Her passionate and precise delivery left a lasting impact. The adjudicator awarded our team the victory, praising our impressive manner and presentation skills. This win underscores the power of dedicated practice. Now, we’re gearing up for the Grand Final in July — stay tuned for more!
