On March 24, our Senior Debating Team participated in the Term Two Round One Debate on Zoom against Christian Alliance International School. The motion was “This House supports the rise of megacities”. The adjudicator was Mr. Kevin So. Our three debaters, Justin Fong (F3), Vincent Lee (F4) and Dominic Wong (F4) argued for the negative side. They won the competition because of better-structured arguments and more effective use of rebuttals. In particular, the remarkable performance of Dominic was highly appreciated and he was awarded Best Speaker for the debate.
This friendly debate has been a valuable learning opportunity for these students, who have always paid enormous effort into our debating competitions.
All members of the Debating Teams will certainly overcome the challenges of the Term Two Round Two Debates with perseverance and devotion.
