On January 17, our F.4 debating team participated in a Term One Final in our English Centre. The motion was that “Parents of children who commit crimes should also be penalised”. Our opponents were students from STFA Yung Yau College in Tin Shui Wai and they argued against the motion. Our three debaters, Lavina Choy (4S), Angelina Lau (4D), and Sarah Leung (4S), displayed their usual very good teamwork. The adjudicator, Mr. Mike Choi, said that it was a very hard debate to adjudicate, and unfortunately, in a close decision, Po Leung Kuk Wu Chung College lost by only 1%. However, the team’s efforts were rewarded with a trophy for being the first Runner-up, and the applause of a large audience.
